FLAME is a Network, and the more people that are involved actively, the more effective the network can be. Most dioceses throughout England are members, and we are now wanting as well to encourage individuals to be more actively involved as members.

Flame provides an opportunity for the community of practitioners and activists within the field of family life and marriage education in the Church of England to be in touch with each other.
A substantial newsletter Newsline is published and distributed three times a year. Every other year a major residential conference is staged over a weekend on themes very relevant to the times. Regional meetings are fostered for smaller groups of practitioners. A special event or workshop is staged each year in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting.
Flame operates an on-line e-group allowing any member to send and receive e-mails across the whole Flame community. This channel is particularly used to disseminate up to the minute comment on developing government legislation in the field of family life and marriage.
The governing body, the Family Life and Marriage Education Trust, is elected from a body including representatives of affiliated dioceses and church councils, as well as individual members. We are always pleased to hear from people who wish to join as individual members. Just send us a request using the Contact Us menu.
If you are a practitioner in the field interested in joining the e-group, send an e-mail explaining who you are and your interests in the family life and marriage education field to:
